About Clarks...The Water Shop

Clarks...The Water Shop was originally a plumbing store called Campbell River Home Plumbing Supplies Ltd. when Mike Clark bought the plumbing side of a plumbing and electrical company. Mike quickly introduced hot tubs, and was one of the first companies in Campbell River to ever offer an irrigation system for a residential yard. This was all back in 1980, and little did he know it was the start of a terrible recession. Times were tough, and although it was a struggle to operate day to day Mike pushed through and continued to do residential plumbing, renovations, some light commercial, and was well on his way to building a valuable list of clients that respected his honesty and hard work, competitive pricing and friendly attitude.

Mike's only son, Glen, joined his dad in 1992 and together they were a great team. They built and expanded on the hot tub & pool side of the business, and went on to become one of the busiest irrigation companies on the north island. They also introduced pond and water feature equipment into the mix and have provided sales and service to ponds as big as over an acre in size.

In 2001 Mike was diagnosed with cancer, and it was a terrible challenge for the family and business. Mike passed away in June of 2001 and Glen has continued to run the business and keeping the family values that were always important in the business. Honesty, integrity, competitive pricing, quality work and friendly service.

In 2004 Glen moved the business into a slightly new direction by focussing more on the pools, hot tubs, irrigation & pond side of the business and moved away from the plumbing side. Today, Clarks is well known in Campbell River and area as the leaders in the hot tub and pool industry, as well as the irrigation industry in which we have a full time seasonal staff doing our installations.

Glen and his wife Katrina have 2 wonderful daughters and continue to support Campbell River in many ways, as they believe in supporting the community in which they live. Glen is a proud member of the Campbell River Daybreak Rotary Club and was the 2011-2012 president. They are both very involved in their daughters activities and schools, helping out wherever they can lend a hand.
